Rebuilding the Sound: Inside the New Rig

New rig, new sound, new energy. Here’s a glimpse into what I’ve been prepping for 2026, with new music and a 10-track album on the way this summer.

Things have been busy behind the scenes… in the best way.

I’ve been deep in sorting out a new small, but 'powerful package' little rig for 2026, and it’s completely changed how I’m writing and performing. What started as a bit of experimentation has quickly turned into something even better with a setup that lets everything flow naturally, where ideas don’t get stuck, they just keep moving.

At the core is a hybrid kit, acoustic drums blended with electronics, but it’s what sits around it that really brings it to life. Guitar, bass, keys, live looping, sample triggering… everything feeds into one system, all connected through a chained MIDI flow that lets me build, layer and reshape tracks in real time. It’s less about switching between instruments and more about playing the whole rig as one.

It’s taken time to dial in properly, but now it’s at that point where I can sit down and get creative. No overthinking. No stopping and starting. Just creating, whilst working to improve my guitar riffs, bass playing and chops!

And that’s led nicely and directly into new material.

I’ve been writing a lot lately, pushing beyond the electronic sound I’ve been expected to produce to in the past, bringing in more live elements, more feel, and a whole lot more crossover between styles. Some of it hits hard, some of it pulls right back… but it all feels connected!

Videos are on the way soon so you can see it all in action, and I’m working flat out to get everything ready.

This is all building towards a 10-track album landing this summer.

It’s coming together nicely, probably better than I expected.

And I hope to get much better at posting more on socials posting too!

More soon.
